MY STORY
I grew up spending magical summers at Lake Nojiri, where my parents had a cabin in a rustic international community on a hill overlooking the lake. I learned to swim there, hiked the mountains and soaked up its beauty. I remember swimming through the glassy morning water to the island and sailing with friends to the rope swing. My father loved to paint outdoors, and sometimes took me with him. That was how I learned to paint. My dad died in 2019 at age 93, so this is also a way to carry on his legacy.
For many, Nojiri evokes powerful feelings and nostalgia -- even decades later. My "wide-angle" canvases (60x30 cm and 90x30 cm) are about 3.5 cm deep, so I am painting around the edges in case you want to display the painting without framing it.

FOUR SEASONS PHOTOS
I am on a quest to photograph various picturesque locations around Nojiri from the same spot during each of the four seasons. So far, I have two series and I'm working on three more. These can be ordered singly or a group.
FRAMING IDEAS
SILVER ACCENT
One of my customers did a fantastic job picking out this frame with a sliver trim, which provides a nice accent.
NO FRAME
My "wide-angle" canvases (like the 60x30 cm ones) have wide sides, which I have painted. So you could potentially display these without a frame. This is not the case for the more normal-sized canvases.
FOUR SEASONS
Line up the four 5x7-inch of the seasonal photos. You can find frames like this on Amazon or other shops.
FLOATER FRAME
In a floater frame, the canvas rests on an indentation, leaving a gap around the painting, giving it kind of a chic look.
